![]() Meet the Instructor
Catherine learned to love the art of sewing as a young child. After years of needlepoint, counted cross-stitch, crewel & embroidery, she finally took the plunge and learned to sew on a machine. She graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a bachelor’s degree in Apparel Manufacturing and Merchandising, with a specialization in theater and costuming. She worked professionally as a costumer in many capacities, including: wardrobe manager, stitcher, designer, first hand, and cutter/draper (pattern maker). During her professional costuming career, Catherine worked in several different theatrical settings, including education, community theater, Shakespeare festivals, opera, regional theater, and large roadhouses. Catherine is now the co-owner of Lucky DeLuxe Fabrics, a fabric and sewing supply thrift store based in Orange, California. |
