Fitting Issues: Identifying and Reading Drag Lines
with Sarah Veblena Zoom workshop
Sunday, November 22
11 AM - 12:30 PM PT
![]() Simply put, garment fitting is complex. Books, videos, and articles offer plenty of advice on how to fit a specific issue, like a swayback or a full bust. Sometimes this advice is spot on, but lots of times it doesn’t entirely solve the problem. So, what do you do then? Get frustrated? Give up?
Learning to read the fabric – i.e., identify and read drag lines – allows you to understand the fitting issue in an entirely different way. This is an encompassing approach to fitting. It requires experimentation, thought, and persistence. But with practice, you’ll become more facile at it. And in the end, it will be totally freeing. Because rather than knowing how to solve one specific issue, you’ll be able to resolve any fitting issue you come across. In Sarah's presentation, her photos will show you many different types of drag lines, so that it will be easier to identify drag lines on your own. Since there are two ends to a drag line, she will demystify the concept that a drag line points to the issue. Using a dress form, Sarah will show you how to experiment with and manipulate the fabric. The goal is to empower you so you’re able to resolve any fitting issues you encounter. You can do it! Click Here to Register*$40 CGW Members
